Marketplace Pricing Standards

Minimum Price and Formatting Rules

When creating new Marketplace items, Roll20's minimum allowable price is $4.99 USD for any Marketplace listing. From there, the price can be increased in $0.50 increments: prices ending with $0.49 or $0.99 USD respectively.

Partners will not be permitted to submit their items for approval if they do not meet these pricing requirements.

The Roll20 Marketplace is structured around the following beliefs:

  • If the content is worth hosting, it takes effort to make, and that effort deserves compensation.
  • Free content can undervalue paid content, hurting other creators, so we enforce pricing standards across the Marketplace.
    • Exceptions to our pricing standards may include Adventure Previews from select Publishers or items created to support specific Roll20 Events.

  Splitting Royalites

Roll20 does not have the site functionality to split royalties between Partners. This can only be accomplished if you cross-list your item(s) on DriveThruRPG, DMsGuild, etc. Split revenue must be handled completely by the Partners in question.

Discount Bundles

Discount Bundles contain existing products on the marketplace that are all for sale individually and are sold together at a percentage discount.

The maximum allowable discount of a Discount Bundle is 30%.

Partners can add any type of Marketplace item to a Discount Bundle.

These bundles offer Dynamic Pricing, which provides an additional price reduction if a Customer already owns one or more of the bundle's sub-items. Their purchase will only charge them for the unowned items.

Price Exceptions for Discount Bundle Items

The price of a Discount Bundle is automatically calculated based on the discount percentage set on the item. This often causes the Bundle Cost to fall outside of the aforementioned pricing standards. This is an acceptable exception to the rule.  See the below example of how the auto-calculated price looks on a Dynamic Bundle listing.
